Guimaras Manggahan Festival Officially Opens
The weeklong manggahan affair officially opens today (April 12) with the ribbon cutting ceremony at the agro-Trade Fair, graced by DA Regional Director Larry Nacionales and Guimaras Tourism Consultant Henry Babiera with Gov. Felipe Hilan A. Nava.
Along with the event is the farmer’s day and distribution of checks to the Livelihood Enhancement for Agricultural Development (LEAD) project beneficiaries and the turn-over of DA-RFU 6 project which is implemented with the LGUs.
Meanwhile, 12 participating groups for street dancing competition added joy and excitement to the viewers as they show-off their attractive costumes, their dance steps and styles on streets (Bongao cable to Guimaras Capitol Grounds). These groups are from the community based tourism barangays that are actively supporting the tourism initiative of the province.
