Administrative Support Programs
With the adverse impact left by 8-11 Oil Spill Tragedy, various rehabilitation projects were initiated by various agencies including efforts to consolidate them, other than its regular priority programs. All aimed to restore the momentum for growth and continue the developmental gains, these programs indeed require complementation to ensure tangible results. The need to harmonize priority programs is in fact a necessity and may well be emphasized by the existence of Local Governments’ Development Councils. This should not however be limited to them but must include the active participation of various national government agencies, non-government and people’s organizations and the private sector in the Province of Guimaras.
The Guimaras Administrative Support Program aims to:
- Harmonize all programs and initiatives to be undertaken by Local Government Units, National Government agencies and Non-Governmental/People’s Organizations for the development of Guimaras;
- Disseminate information on the 30-year Provincial Physical Framework Plan and the adopted spatial strategy of the province of Guimaras;
- Initiate and ensure the efficient delivery of services in grassroots level;
- Provide adequate support to and monitor programs and projects of the LGUs, Non-Governmental/People’s Organizations and various agencies.
The PROGRAM will be managed by the assigned personnel under the supervision of the Provincial Government of Guimaras in coordination with the Congressional Office. Funding allocation will entirely depend on the release of the financial assistance from the Priority Development Assistance Fund extended by the Representative of the Lone District of Guimaras. Procurement of materials and disbursement of funds will follow the usual accounting and auditing rules and regulations.
