Filed and Proposed Bills
In the first 100 days of Congressman JC RAHMAN A. NAVA, MD, as Representative of the Lone District of Guimaras, two (2) bills were Authored and filed by him. One is House Bill No. 2928 “An Act Establishing Separate Municipal Circuit Trial Court comprising the Municipalities of Buenavista and San Lorenzo in the Province of Guimaras and Appropriating Funds Therefor and for Other Purposes” and House Bill No. 2929 “An Act Creating an Additional Regional Trial Court Branch in the Province of Guimaras to be Stationed in the Municipality of Jordan, Amending for the Purpose Section 14, Paragraph (G) of Batas Pambansa Blg. 129, Otherwise Known as the Judiciary Reorganization Act of 1980, As Amended“.
In the opening of 2nd Regular Session of the 14th Congress just recently, three (3) additional bills were filed by Congressman Nava, to wit:
- House Bill No. 4918 – “An Act Establishing a Marine and Breeding Center in the Municipality of Jordan, Province of Guimaras, Appropriating Funds Therefor and for Other Purposes”
- House Bill No. 4919 - “An Act Declaring May 22nd Of Every Year a Special Non-Working Holiday in the Province of Guimaras to Commemorate its Anniversary as a Province”
- House Bill No. 4920 - “An Act Amending Sections 284 and 285 of Republic Act 7160 Otherwise Known as the Local Government Code of 1991″
Congressman Nava is likewise the co-author of substantial bills, some of which were already approved in the Lower House. One of which is Magna Carta for Public School Teachers and Cheaper Medicines Act.
