GUIMARAS UNDERGOES 2024 SGLG NATIONAL VALIDATION

The Provincial Government of Guimaras underwent national validation for the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Award on September 3, 2024 conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Governor JC Rahman A. Nava MD, Acting Provincial Administrator Gregory Teñoso II, heads of offices and employees of the Provincial Government welcomed the validation team at Olivia’s Kitchen Hall in San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras where the team reviewed documents and conducted interviews. The team also visited sites as part of the validation.

GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY KICKS OFF GUIMARAS ARENA AND CONVENTION CENTER CONSTRUCTION

The Provincial Government of Guimaras headed by Governor JC Rahman A. Nava MD, in collaboration with USWAG Ilonggo Partylist, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and the Office of Congresswoman Ma. Lucille L. Nava, MD celebrated the groundbreaking ceremony for the Guimaras Arena and Convention Center on August 30, 2024 at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras. The multi-million project is a state-of-the art facility that is expected to enhance tourism, events, and economic growth not only in the province but in the entire Western Visayas. Scheduled for completion in 2027, the three-storey Guimaras Arena and Convention Center will cover 7,902 square meters of lot. The arena has a total floor area of 9,653 square meters and a seating capacity of 4,500. Meanwhile, the Convention Center has 6,690 square meters total floor area and features one grand ballroom, two small ballrooms, display/exhibition area and VIP area. Escalators will be installed in both structures.

PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT HOLDS INVESTMENT BRIEF WRITESHOP FOR LEDIPOs OF GUIMARAS

The Provincial Government of Guimaras continues to develop the capacity of the Local Economic and Investment Promotion Officers (LEDIPOs) and other stakeholders in crafting effective policies to support economic development in the island province. The Provincial Economic Development Office (PEDO) conducted an Investment Brief Writeshop and Validation on August 19-20, 2024 at Caza Guest House, San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras.

The activity was participated by Local Economic and Investment Promotion Officers, Tourism Officers of the five municipalities; representatives from Tourism-Related Industry Group, water and Internet providers; Department of Science and Technology, Department of Information and Communications Technology; and offices of the Provincial Government of Guimaras.

GOV. NAVA COMMENDS BUENAVISTA YOUNG LEADERS’ TRAINING, ANSWER QUERIES ON LEADERSHIP

Governor JC Rahman A. Nava, MD commended youth leaders in the municipality of Buenavista for successfully launching the Buenavista Layag Youth Convergence (BYLC) at Supang National High School, Buenavista, Guimaras on August 16-18, 2024.

.“Congratulations for taking the initiative to hold this leadership event. We hope that we could come up with this kind of activity on the provincial level. So, keep it this way, nami ini ang inyo nga gin-ubra. With this, we are confident nga ma-secure natun ang maayo nga bwasdamlag sang kabataan diri sa Probinsya sang Guimaras,” Gov. Nava said during his message on the last day of the three-day youth camp.

SEN. BONG REVILLA BRINGS PHP 4 MILLION FINANCIAL AID TO GUIMARASNONS

Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr., represented by his wife, Cavite 2nd District Congresswoman Lani Mercado-Revilla, distributed Php 4 million financial assistance to Guimarasnons on August 16, 2024 at the Provincial Covered Gym, San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras. A total of 2,000 beneficiaries received Php 2,000 cash assistance each from the office of Sen. Revilla through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
