DOT-6, GUIMRAS LGUs SUCCESSFULLY CONCLUDE ADVOCACY SWIM RACE

The Department of Tourism Region VI (DOT-6) in partnership with the Provincial Government of Guimaras and Municipality of Nueva Valencia successfully concluded the 3rd leg of Western Visayas International Open Water Swim Circuit on June 30, 2024 at the picturesque Taklong Island National Marine Reserve (TINMR), Barangay San Roque, Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.

Around 150 swimmers participated in three distance categories – 2.5KM, 5KM and 7KM – across different age groups.

Declared as overall champion in the 7KM Male Category is Busty Dwyne Jalandra, followed by Rynz Matthew Cortado as the overall first runner-up and Sky Gako as the overall second runner-up. All three winners came from 12 to 17 age category.

Meanwhile, Ashriel Jibbely Gangoso won as overall champion in the 7KM Female Category, followed by Coraline Montalbo and Rencel Grace Uytoco as overall first runner-up and second runner-up, respectively.

In the 5KM Male Category, Hans Iňigo Parreňo was declared as the overall champion, Gary Donguines as the overall first runner-up and Franze Louise Lumogdang as the overall second runner-up.

For 5KM Female Category, Julie Ann Chua was announced as overall champion, Rhianne Gonzales as overall first runner-up and Milkshake Panagsagan as the overall second runner-up.For the 2.5KM Male Category, Ian Cedric Udani was held as the overall champion, Grigori Alek Ong as the overall first runner-up and Maurice Awyong as the overall second runner-up.

Finally, for the 2.5KM Female Category, Ellyza Julia Buncio was declared as the overall champion, followed by Vhee Junnyne Militar as the overall first runner-up and Esther Jude Umilin as the overall second runner-up.

All winners received medals and cash prizes courtesy of the Municipal Government of Nueva Valencia, Guimaras.
