GOV. NAVA COMMENDS BUENAVISTA YOUNG LEADERS’ TRAINING, ANSWER QUERIES ON LEADERSHIP
Governor JC Rahman A. Nava, MD commended youth leaders in the municipality of Buenavista for successfully launching the Buenavista Layag Youth Convergence (BYLC) at Supang National High School, Buenavista, Guimaras on August 16-18, 2024.
“Congratulations for taking the initiative to hold this leadership event. We hope that we could come up with this kind of activity on the provincial level. So, keep it this way, nami ini ang inyo nga gin-ubra. With this, we are confident nga ma-secure natun ang maayo nga bwasdamlag sang kabataan diri sa Probinsya sang Guimaras,” Gov. Nava said during his message on the last day of the three-day youth camp.
“Nga-a nga ginbutangan sang meaning ang Kabataan FIRST? Ang intention is to make sure that all initiatives would lift towards securing the future sang aton kabataan diri sa probinsya. So, kung tan-awon niyo ang ‘F’ is Focused Tourism, trade and investment, employment. This will generate eventually sang economic returns para sa aton probinsya, ang ini nga economic returns would give additional income sa mga pamilya, and every time nga ang kada pamilya may ubra ma-secure mo ang future sang bata sang sina nga pamilya,” Gov. Nava added.
The governor, together with Buenavista Mayor Samuel Gumarin and Supang National High School Principal Collins Natividad answered queries of the participants during the open forum which mostly focused on leadership concerns. The First Buenavista Layag Youth Convergence was organized in line with the governor’s development agenda Kabataan FIRST, according to Mr. Jay Lord T. Saplagio, Buenavista Tourism Officer and Local Youth Development Officer-Designate. The activity aims to foster a sense of responsibility and active participation among young leaders in the municipality on skills development such as HIV education, first aid and survival skills training. “Layag” is an acronym for Leading Advocates of Youth for Active Governance.
