The island-province of Guimaras retained its victory feat during the recently concluded Fiesta Pilipinas-Kasadyahan Cultural Competition securing a three-peat supremacy.

The province’s official representative this year, Hubon Guimarasnon sang Manggahan Festival, was declared the champion of the said cultural tilt held yesterday, January 26th.

The Hubon snatched the Best in Costume, Best in Choreography and Best in Performance awards.

The performing group showcased the abundance of the top agricultural crops and products of the town of San Lorenzo being the the Manggahan Festival 2018 Cultural Competition Champion for two straight years.

The theme of their performance was “Bugana” which means abundance linked to a bountiful harvest.

With mangoes as the island’s banner crop capping the presentation, the group likewise showed the salt-making, fisheries and banana industries.

Manggahan Festival will join in this year’s Aliwan Fiesta in Manila, the national gathering of festivals with hopes to likewise sustain its stellar performance as first runner-up for the past two years.

Joining the regionals also means promotion of the island’s local festival which is slated May 11-22 annually.

Pintaflores of San Carlos City placed fourth RU, Hugyaw of St. Therese MTC Colleges placed third RU, Manughabol kang Salakayan of Miag-ao placed second RU, and Kultugan of Maasin placed first RU.

Tultugan got the best in music and best musical director award.
