#Manggahan2020 will officially open in 100 days!
Governor Samuel T. Gumarin, MD. MPH and Vice Governor John Edward G. Gando, together with the members of the 9th Sangguniang Panlalawigan, officially unveiled the symbolic 100-DAYS-TO-GO MARKER after the flag raising today, February 3rd.
Governor Gumarin shared the welcoming of the new decade as the mantra of this year’s celebration.
“As we start the new decade, we also welcome the newest era of prosperity and development for the island-province of Guimaras. The socio-economic challenges we have faced through the years have made us resilient and strong, further making us rise as ONE Guimaras with ONE PERFECT VISION for every Guimarasnon,”he said.
Gumarin said that the said festival is aligned with the ongoing re-programming and updating of the long term plans of the Province.
“As we re-program and update our Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan, we will not only share this to the region but all over the country and to the world. This crowns our efforts to establish the festival and shoot it high up with our five thriving municipalities,” he added.
Meanwhile, Vice Governor John Edward Gando highlighted the full support of the 9th Sangguniang Panlalawigan for this year’s festival particularly on resource allocation, addressing transportation issues and the 2019 Corona Virus.
This year’s theme is “New Decade. One Vision. Masanag nga Palaabuton, Aton Maangkon!”.
