“This is the fruit of our quest for excellence. Wala lang ini ginhatag sa aton because type lang kita nga hatagan sang DILG. These were given to us because we passed the highest standard of governance imposed by the national government. This will be our commitment to our people and our province, that we will see to it that we will serve them with utmost transparency and we will always strive for excellence in the government,” the vice governor said.
Governor Nava extended his appreciation to partner agencies and stakeholders particularly the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), which was instrumental for Guimaras to achieve the coveted seal. He added that the acquisition of the said vehicles is the output of the cooperation of the officials and employees of the Provincial Government. More than the award, the Governor said that the practices that fueled the Provincial Government to achieve the SGLG seal for the first time, will be part of the daily activities of the officials and employees of PGG.
“Thank you for doing your share in achieving SGLG for the Province of Guimaras. I hope nga we will be successful again in the last evaluation. For the second year I hope Guimaras will be there to take the award kay ini I believe nga it will never be just a matter of receiving SGLG but we are looking forward that these practices will be part of our day-to-day life, part of our day-to-day activities. So, unay na sa Provincial Government ang tanan nga system kag ina ya paaman na lang gid ang SGLG,” Governor Nava said.
DILG Region 6 Assistant Regional Director Maria Calpiza J. Sardua, CESO IV said that the event was a celebration of good governance.
“We are here for the inauguration and blessing of the 2023 SGLGIF project which are the rescue vehicles. But then, we are here for a more important celebration, and that is the celebration of good governance. Sa SGLG, ginatan-aw naton ang compliance sang local government unit sa tanan nga indicators of good governance, 10 ina ka areas if you remember, nga naga-comply sang mga local, national, and international standards. Nakapasar ang Guimaras bangud mayo ang pang-gobyerno sa Guimaras,” Sardua explained.
