The Provincial Government of Guimaras underwent national validation for the 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) Award on September 3, 2024 conducted by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).
Governor JC Rahman A. Nava MD, Acting Provincial Administrator Gregory Teñoso II, heads of offices and employees of the Provincial Government welcomed the validation team at Olivia’s Kitchen Hall in San Miguel, Jordan, Guimaras where the team reviewed documents and conducted interviews. The team also visited sites as part of the validation.
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) – Guimaras Provincial Director Roselyn B. Quintana, CESO V introduced the assessment team composed of DC Maybelle E. Anog, LGOO VII and James Daryll B. Liggayu, LGOO V of DILG Region II.
In his message, Gov. Nava said that the resubmission of Guimaras to the SGLG national validation is proof of the efforts of the employees of the Provincial Government to do their work not only for the SGLG but also to provide good services for the people of Guimaras.
“We all know that Guimaras has complied with the standards of the program, the SGLG program before but, only last year that we’re fully recognized with one municipality as well passing the requirements. So, this activity today is rather a manifestation of the efforts that all of us are working for. But for sure, it will never be for purposes of complying with the standards anymore but, I hope on a year-by-year basis it will be more of a commitment to the constituency of the Province of Guimaras. The presence of our national evaluators or assessors is definitely a success for everyone that we reached this level again but I’m confident that we can hit another recognition for this year with all the effort that you have exerted, with all the day-to-day work that you have dedicated not only for SGLG, but for the Province of Guimaras,” Gov. Nava said.
