PROVINCIAL PEACE AND ORDER COUNCIL AND PROVINCIAL ANTI-DRUG ABUSE COUNCIL

Governor Ma. Lucille L. Nava presided over the Joint Second Quarter Meeting of the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) and the Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Council (PADAC) on June 30, 2026, at the Conference Room of the Office of the Governor, Kapitolyo Probinsiyal sang Guimaras, San Miguel, Jordan.

As Chairperson of both councils, Governor Nava led the discussion of updates and strategic actions aimed at sustaining peace, public safety, and the province’s campaign against illegal drugs.

The Guimaras Police Provincial Office reported a total of 252 crime incidents from January to June 15, 2026, with an impressive 99.60% Crime Clearance Efficiency and 94.05% Crime Solution Efficiency, reflecting the continued commitment of law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and order in the province.

On the anti-illegal drugs campaign, it was reported that the municipalities of Jordan and Nueva Valencia are set to undergo deliberation by the Regional Oversight Committee for their declaration as drug-cleared municipalities, marking another milestone in the province’s intensified anti-drug efforts.

Meanwhile, the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-Guimaras reported that all 97 barangays in the province attained 100% compliance in the Barangay Peace and Order Council (BPOC) Functionality Audit for Performance Year 2025, while 96 barangays successfully complied with the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) Functionality Audit.

The councils also approved several key resolutions to further strengthen peace and security initiatives in the province, including:

• Encouraging all local government units to intensify border control measures in ports and other points of entry to prevent the entry of illegal drugs into Guimaras;

• Urging municipalities to continuously support their respective Barangay Peace and Order Councils (BPOCs) and Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADACs) through capacity development activities and logistical assistance;

• Enjoining all municipal local government units to sustain support for the implementation of the Search for the Outstanding Barangay Tanod (SOBT) Program; and

• Requesting the Provincial Peace and Order Council and the 606th Community Defense Center (606CDC) to jointly plan and assist in the registration and accounting of Philippine Army reservists in the Province of Guimaras.

The meeting reaffirmed the Provincial Government of Guimaras’ commitment to fostering a safe, peaceful, and drug-free community through strengthened collaboration among national government agencies, local government units, law enforcement authorities, and community stakeholders.
